Rangefinder works in manual focus. Viewfinder: Lights up when it's too dark to see, or press a light button. Shows focus status, all exposure info, flash ready. Very crowded LCD panel also. Single or continuous (low or high speed) advance. Batteries: Uses 4 x AA batteries. Lenses: Nikon AF lenses, or other F-mount lenses with some limitations. Accessories: MF-21 control back (it came with). Nikon SB-24 is dedicated flash. Limitations: Click any picture to enlarge to full screen in a new tab. Close tab to return. 3-20-24: Arrived in good condition. I think it's working, but the shutter locks without film in it. Will add more info when I catch up, received 8 cameras at once. 3-21-24: Loaded her up, but the exposure counter didn't reset, so I started at exposure 28. When it got above 24 more I decided that something was wrong and rewound it, which worked as expected. It did reset after the rewind to zero. After developing the film this evening I see it was on the last exposure, and all was well. I shot this roll of Kentmere ASA 100 on Program mode. The camera weighs a ton, so I didn't bring a long lens, just a plastic Nikkor 35-80mm kit lens. The customary flash test was ruined checking to see if it was loading. I wondered if there is a "custom features" menu to prevent rewinding into the cartridge. Nope. No custom functions. There is a reset shortcut, by holding Mode and Drive buttons together a few seconds. That sets Program mode, single frame advance, and matrix metering. It also clears other settings. |
